The Shusters were raised Catholic—very Catholic. Ms. Shuster became a nun. She has a degree in Catholicism. Then, they moved and met their new Mormon neighbors. Now, they are actively Mormon. To say that they are educated in the scriptures, Mormonism, and Catholicism is an understatement. They take each topic and analyze the two religions’ beliefs. As you can guess, rarely do the two share a common belief. I have always been interested in different religions. I have read quite a bit about the Catholic religion and the Church of Latter Day Saints. This is the first book I have seen that compares the two. I am Protestant, and I am still not moved to join either of these churches. However, it is an interesting read. Sociology students, religion students, Catholics, and Mormons need to read this. |
