A mother’s journal…

Reviewed by Debra Gaynor for ReviewYourBook.com

When Vickie Clark’s nineteen year old son died in an automobile accident, she poured out her heart in her journal. This courageous lady allows readers a glimpse into her grief. I cannot begin to understand the pain she must have felt. As parents, we expect to our children to outlive us. Clark is brutally honest with herself. I found the November 5 entry very sad. Clark’s friends mourned him and had one last keg party in his honor. They did not get it. “Alcohol kills.” Ms. Clark faced major changes in her life during the year following Clark’s death. She sold her house and returned to college. She faced death and defeated it.

Clark is written in a unique way. Vickie shares journal entries and then writes from Clark’s point of view.   I offer my condolences to the author and thank her for sharing her pain with others. I am sure this book will offer comfort to the grieving.
